The Wild Moccasin First Nations Dancers

The Wild Moccasin Dancers have been sharing their gifts for most of their lives, and express these gifts through First Nations songs, dances, and storytelling.

David Whitebean is from Mohawk First Nation and Bajan First Nation (from Barbados) and performs Prairie-style Pow Wow Dances. He feels privileged to carry forward the tradition of the pow wow. “It’s a blessing to be able to continue living in the footsteps of our ancestors who weren’t allowed to do their own dances or speak their own language. It’s a privilege to continue sharing the teachings”.

Other members of the troupe have made such notable appearances as dancing in The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies and touring the USA and Europe with  Larry Yazzie, two time world champion fancy dancer, to dance with The Native Pride Dancers.

The Wild Moccasin Dancers’ mission is to bring all peoples together by utilizing medicine wheel teachings through intertribal dance steps and styles.
