Since 2015, Gina Lam, best known by her stage name Ginalina, has received over 20 national and international honours including 3 Juno nominations, 4 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, 2 Western Canadian Music Awards, and 5 Canadian Children’s Book Centre recognitions. She tours regularly, solo and with her band, and as an author, she recently celebrated her work in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, and Nunavut at this year’s National Children’s Book Week: The Mighty River, The Lively Forest, and I Will Be a Tree (coming 2023). Starting mid-2016, Ginalina’s music videos have been aired on Kidoodle.TV in the Canada and United States as well as on the Knowledge Network.
She has shared her music with many audiences including corporate events and major festivals like Party for the Planet/City of Surrey, Mariposa Folk Festival, Festival Du Bois, World Rivers Day. Her shows are engaging and inspiring – blending bluegrass, country, zydeco, modern folk, and West Coast styles.
Ginalina was born in Toronto, Ontario to immigrant parents, and now lives on the West Coast where she mixes homeschooling and homemaking with friendships and creative passions.
