Arnt Arntzen is a Canadian-born guitarist, banjoist, and vocalist specializing in Traditional Jazz. Raised in a musical family, he earned a degree in Jazz and Contemporary Guitar from Vancouver Community College, where he received multiple awards and scholarships.
Arnt began performing live jazz in 2012 with the Hot Foot Five and has since played with the Jen Hodge All-Stars, Baby Soda Jazz Band, Avalon Jazz Band, and more. A multi-generational performer, he’s part of the Three Generations of Jazz project and co-led the Brothers Arntzen with his brother Evan.
Since moving to New York City in 2017, Arnt has become a regular with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks and the Louis Armstrong Eternity Band at Birdland. Though primarily a sideman, he occasionally leads intimate trios exploring rare gems of early American jazz, where his banjo finds its perfect voice alongside cornet and trombone.
