Tiller’s Folly have created true, heroic Canadian tales, carrying on the Celtic heart beating across the decks of battered ships many maritime moons ago. Their debut, The View From Here, followed by numerous successful CDs all spin a high energy meld of traditional instrumentation and sounds. The songs and storytelling of this unique presentation feature insightful portraits of the people and events that helped shape our Pacific Canadian province, British Columbia. The music begins with songs of the earliest fur trade explorations, through to the legendary gold rush that led to British Colonization (1858). The songs then carry forward to the province’s inclusion in the Dominion of Canada and continue to include our province today,a richly diverse and unique global society, which embraces many cultures and ideals.
