A Canadian Travelogue
A Sentimental Journey will give your guests a truly Canadian experience. Our comedic Train Conductor and his bumbling Porter will take you on a nostalgic musical journey from romantic Quebec City to the C&W town of Calgary with the big city of Vancouver as the last stop.
Quebec City: Chansons d’adieu
As guests enter the Train Station for dinner, a trio plays lively Jazz creating a bustling atmosphere of a Quebec Cabaret. Once the guests are seated, our Train Conductor and Porter characters welcome the guests and outline the wonderful journey ahead…an evening of fine food and entertainment as they travel west! But before leaving Quebec City, a French Vocalist performs such songs as C’est Si Bon, La Vie en Rose and Voyage Sentimental. Spontaneously, two other travelers dressed in period attire perform an engaging dance to the romantic music.
Calgary: A Country Round-up
As guests enjoy the first course, the Jazz trio provides elegant dinner music. Soon the Conductor announces a stop in the city of Calgary. A champion fiddle player and Country singer/guitarist board the train and join the band in The Orange Blossom Special. After another feature train song, the vignette closes with C&W dancers performing a high stepping Hoe Down routine that truly captures the energy and excitement of the Calgary Stampede. As the staff serve the entrée, the band performs vintage Canadian Country & Western and Folk songs as our journey continues to Vancouver.
Vancouver: Bright Lights, Big City, Big Band Swing
Once dessert is served, we arrive in the dynamic city of Vancouver where four horn players join the other musicians. The band and singers perform swinging songs from the Big Band Era such as Chattanooga Choo Choo, Take the A Train….Guaranteed to get every audience member In The Mood. For the finale all the singers and dancers join the band for an elaborate choreographed production number to end our A Sentimental Journey show.
