Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2013, Scott has been performing relentlessly with his signature red guitar all over Vancouver and throughout North America. He has written/performed/recorded with The Hamiltones, Five Alarm Funk, Warren Dean Flandez, Dawn Pemberton, Tonye Aganaba, Kutapira, Katherine Penfold and many more. Scott Verbeek stands as a testament to the enduring allure of jazz, continually pushing the boundaries of the genre. His 2021 release ‘Katana’ blends Funk/Fusion grooves and lyrical melodies with a heavy emphasis on improvisation.
Verbeek’s playing style exudes a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary Pop influences. His virtuosity is apparent through his impeccable technique, fluid improvisation, and nuanced expressiveness. Whether interpreting Jazz standards, chill versions of contemporary Top 40 songs or delivering original compositions, Scott creates the perfect soundscape for any event. He has performed at numerous corporate events and weddings in addition to be featured at Guilt & Co, 2nd Floor Gastown and he often plays for the travellers at Vancouver International Airport.
