Originally from Chicago, Elisa Thorn moved to Canada to study at the University of British Columbia, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Music (harp performance). Since graduating, she is has become an active freelance musician gaining vast experience performing for special events. Elisa is also a much sought after addition to the creative music scene, known for her use of extended techniques, electronic effects, and unconventional uses of harp.
She has attended the International Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music at the Banff Centre and held a residency at Spread Art in Detroit. Her current projects include Hildegard’s Ghost, Jazz Bras Dot Com, the Painting Project, Ladybird, Red Moon Star Triptych and Gentle Party.
