Luis Giraldo's performing and recording career started in his native Colombia where he played keyboards for Shakira during her world tour. Upon finishing that tour, Giraldo moved to Vancouver to study composition at SFU, all the while growing his interest in Jazz and the American Songbook. He has spent performed extended engagements aboard Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, and Disney cruise ships.
In 2002 he released his first Jazz album as vocalist, "Day Dream". He is accompanied on the album by accomplished pianist Chris Sigerson, and well known bassist and producer Rick Kilburn. In July 6th, 2008, Giraldo released "It's Always You" to a sold out room at the Jazz Cellar in Vancouver!
"I want my music to evoke a lot of romanticism. That's what I want with my music, something that makes people want to fall in love," says Luis. His music is the perfect accompaniment to any event.
"Luis Giraldo approaches classic songs with respect. His style recalls music from another era, and it's great to know that artists like him are keeping this style of music and singing alive."
